RANDY MOSS JERSEY
There have been very few wide receivers in NFL history that have been as talented or as controversial as Randy Moss. Randy Moss’ controversial lifestyle first became public knowledge while he was still in high school. Moss was involved in a fight and eventually accepted a battery conviction thus ending the young man’s dream of playing college football for Notre Dame even though he was a high school all-American and considered one of the best football players in the nation. Moss then attended Florida State University but soon after he arrived he tested positive for Marijuana use and was kicked off the team.
Randy Moss then made a decision that put him back on his path to the NFL. He decided to transfer to Marshall University and play football at the Division 1AA level. Moss rewrote a lot of the 1AA record books during a dominating career at Marshall. Due to Randy’s controversial past, he was overlooked by many teams in the 1998 NFL Draft. The Minnesota Vikings decided to take a chance on his overwhelming physical abilities and drafted him with the 21st pick of the first round. Randy Moss quickly rewarded the Vikings with a record setting rookie season where he made the Pro Bowl and was named NFL offensive rookie of the year. His often high flying acrobatic catches were on every highlight reel and a fixture on ESPN.
Moss developed a reputation as a dangerous deep threat and every team the Vikings faced had to prepare for Moss’s speed and height advantage as he would either jump over you or run past you. While with the Vikings, Randy Moss jersey’s flew off the shelves as he quickly become one of the most exciting players in the league. After 7 seasons of stellar play in Minnesota, the Vikings and Moss had a philosophical difference that lead to Moss being traded to the Oakland Raiders, a team known for talented players like Moss that didn’t see eye to eye with their former team or coaches. Moss became an instant fan favorite in Oakland partly due to his attitude and soon #81 jerseys in silver and black became one of the NFL’s top sellers. Once again, Moss lost favor with the Oakland coaching staff after a couple seasons of overall poor team play and nagging injuries took its toll on Moss’ attitude and relationship with his coach.
Around NFL Draft day 2007, Moss was traded to the New England Patriots. The early returns on this deal are favorable as Moss has become a favorite target of future hall of fame quarterback Tom Brady as both are enjoying career years in Boston. It is hard for one to say for sure why the Randy Moss jersey has been so popular but it is most likely that Moss is such an extreme talent combined with a very controversial personality that creates such wide appeal and why his jersey is still a fan favorite in Minnesota, Oakland and now New England.
